For those of us who, living in the populated Damascus , need a
place to relax during the weekend, the Bagdad Café offers
an ideal place to do so. Two small rooms, at the bee-heave
building, provide shelter
for the night for a small number of visitors. Basic facilities
include a carpeted floor, mattresses and blankets; a recently built
bathroom, adjacent to the rooms, adds to the comfort of the place.
With respect to meals, basic breakfast consisting of fresh eggs,
yoghurt, cheese, Arabic bread and marmalade can be served if spending
the night there, all sourced from their own farm.
It is always recommended to contact the Bagdad Café in
advance so that they have things prepared.
With some days notice, those of you who would like to experience
a couple of nights "a la Bedouin", the Bagdad Cafe can also organise
for you the setting of a tent in one of the "wadis" at the foot
of the Jebel R'mah mountain and arrange for all gear, foot and
drink to enjoy the stay.
